I’ll be clear and say that I’ve built a mailing list before. I’ve actually done it multiple times. I’ve also deleted my list several times. There is this belief in entrepreneurship that you just HAVE to have a mailing list or your business won’t be successful. I’m here to tell you that is the truth! You don’t want to build your business without a list. It does make scaling difficult. In this episode, I want to explain how you can get started building that brand.

Building your revenue without a list has a few requirements. Each step require precision and focus. I’ll also note that it takes time to build when you’re doing things differently than literally everyone else.

  1. Be clear on your mission! Know exactly who you serve and why its important to you. This key point is going to help you stay focused and dedicated when things get hard.
  2. Your mission is best expressed through podcasting. Commit to launching a podcast that aligns with your mission. You’ll have the chance to learn more and connect with more of the right people.
  3. Consistency! I shouldn’t have to say more.
  4. Create a solid offer. Your offer value comes down to the problem you’re solving and how good you are at it. If the problem isn’t relevant, it’ll be difficult for you to generate sales and make an impact.

Just because you can building a business without a mailing list, doesn’t mean you should. But everyone has to start somewhere. When you’re in the beginning and how no subscribers, these are the things you should do. Honestly, after you’ve started to reach a certain level of success, it will be easy to grow your list!
